ENTERTAINMENT / PERFORMING ARTS
A key factor in all entertainment facilities is the continuous variation in occupancy rates, lighting levels, and equipment loads, from nearly zero to peak levels in rapid succession. Engineering simulations are required to determine system sizes that will neither be too oversized and expensive, nor leave the facility short of capacity. We also manage the design and selection of equipment for high levels of reliability and redundancy. A system failure during a critical filming segment can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and leaving a stage ‘dark’ for repairs can wreak havoc with the schedules of star performers.
The building’s quietness was recently rated; the air conditioning was up and running normally. The results surprised and pleased everyone. We were hoping for a rating as low as NC-20, and it came out 15, which is unheard of. This is a very quiet hall!
